What are you giving the heroine for Valentine's Day?

What is your strength?
As a mathematician, I used to think logic was one of my strengths. Yet since encountering Lady Katherine Adderly at the first ball of the season, my thinking has been anything but logical. The woman is quite a...distraction.
I've been told that I can be too single-minded, and have a tendency to hold a grudge. However, since agreeing to Kat's scheme to convince our families that we're engaged, I'm finding tenacity a very useful trait.
What would you like to get on Valentine's Day?
I crave a private moment with Lady Katherine (Kat), when we aren't pretending to conduct a courtship for the benefit of others.
What would be your perfect date?
A dark, clear night in London and a visit to the Royal Observatory in Greenwich to observe the stars. Beyond our loyalty to our siblings, Kat and I have a fondness for stargazing in common.
What are you giving the heroine for Valentine's Day?
Kat adores plants and flowers. It would be quite a coup to gift her with a unique specimen, something she couldn't find in England. Some tropical orchid, perhaps.

My ideal Valentine's gift would be a weekends away with my husband.
ReplyDeleteI would like that kind of gift too. :)
DeleteSome quality alone time with my husband. Our 24th anniversary is on the 15th. :-)
ReplyDeleteIt's so hard to find that quality time, isn't it? I'd like some time alone with my Hubby too.
DeleteI just enjoy time with my husband. His normal work keeps him out of town during the week so every moment I get with him is important to me.
ReplyDeleteI can understand that. Hope you and Hubby get some time together!
DeleteMy ideal Valentine's gift would be a self-cleaning house so I could spend more quality time with my husband.
ReplyDeleteMary M.
Something that doesn't have a price attached to it and comes from the heart. I prefer small considerate stuffs that means something rather than material things even a hug would suffice for me 😊
ReplyDeleteThat's so sweet, Natasha. And I totally agree that gifts from the heart mean so much more.
Deletelots of chocolate
ReplyDeletebn100candg at hotmail dot com
I never turn down chocolate! Living in the Pacific NW, I've grown quite partial to Moonstruck chocolate (a local brand). It's fabulous!
DeleteMy ideal Valentine's Day gift would be a marriage proposal...from Gerard Butler. I don't have a sweetie so why not him? ;)
ReplyDeleteHey, aim big, eh? ;)
DeleteMy ideal Valentine gift would be a fun trip somewhere...wouldn't have to be an exotic resort or anything...just a getaway. And it would need to be pet friendly because our Yorkie goes with us everywhere!jdh2690@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteI hope you get it! I've been wishing for a brief getaway too. Even a day trip would be fun.
DeleteMy favorite Valentine gift is when Valentine's Day is on my husband and my anniversary especially since we met and married when he was in the Navy serving on an aircraft carrier during the war in Vietnam.
ReplyDeleteAww, that's lovely! A very special day for you.
DeleteI got my ideal gift already....in the 90's hubby put an ad in the newspaper for valentines asking me to marry him and had a heart shaped diamond engagement ring waiting for me.... I said yes... still together 24 years this year
ReplyDeleteThat's a fantastic story! I love it. Congratulations on so many years of happiness.
DeleteMy ideal Valentine gift would be flowers.
ReplyDeleteI hope you get some! My husband isn't much of a bouquet guy, but the few times he's sent me flowers has been a real treat.
DeleteA plant for my garden
ReplyDeleteWe're not really celebrating Valentine Day. My husband is Laotian and he doesn't celebrate much of anything - he even doesn't remember when is the birthday of our kids. But, he's the kind of man who will give gifts for no particular reason, just because he felt like it. Yesterday, he bought me a Samsung Galaxy Tab S2... said it was my late birthday gift and my Valentine gift and my Mother's Day gift for the next couple of years. :)
ReplyDeleteWell, that's nice! Generosity and kindness all year matters most.
DeleteMy ideal gift would be a box of really yummy chocolates!
ReplyDeleteI can never resist chocolate. :) Hope you get some!
DeleteMy husband is of Scots descent and this year I discovered a shop online that sells the Russell tartan. I got him a pair of cufflinks and me a scarf, so I am the gift-giver this year :)
ReplyDeleteThat's so cool! My husband is from Scotland, but his family has no tartan. We did find a Scottish shop, however, and he likes to stock up on British food and Irn Bru. :)
DeleteMy ideal gift would be chocolates and some flowers simple is good:)
ReplyDeleteAgreed! Hope you get them. :)
DeleteMy ideal gift would be chocolate gummy bears. Thanks for the chance!
ReplyDeleteOoh, yum. That sounds good. :)
DeleteMy ideal gift would be more time spent with my boyfriend who lives 2 hours away....
ReplyDeleteI hope you two can manage it, Carrie. Time spent together is the best kind. :)
DeleteMy ideal valentine gift would be candy, flowers and lobster tails ♡ yum! Thank you Happy Valentine's Day ♡
ReplyDeleteYum! Hope you get them all, Linda! :)
Deletea trip to Scotland would be real nice
ReplyDeleteI'm with you there, Tonya! My husband is from Scotland. We've been married almost five years, and we still haven't made it back to visit Scotland.
DeleteThe perfect gift...freedom. It isn't like I'm physically chained, it's more mentally stuck. Thankfully there are books!
ReplyDeleteAwww, Candy. I'm hoping for that freedom for you too. Books are a great solace and an escape too. Thanks for commenting! :)
DeleteA horseback ride in the mountains, a Punic by a lake, and some loving under the stars
ReplyDeleteWow, that sounds lovely. I hope you get that day. :)
DeleteIdeal Valentine's Day gift would definitely be a box of books and a large box of chocolate.
ReplyDeleteSounds ideal to me! Lots of books and lots of chocolate. :)
DeleteMy ideal Valentine would be flowers a nice dinner and a trip somewhere
ReplyDeleteThat sounds lovely, Molly. Hope you get it. :)
DeleteMy ideal Valentines gift would be just spending the day with someone I love and flowers.
ReplyDeleteTime spent with someone you love is the best gift, isn't it? And I love flowers this time of year too. After the winter, it's a real bright spot.
DeleteLol good question. A surprise getaway, even for an evening the husband plans. I love surprises. If there is dancing, even better :-)
ReplyDeleteThat sounds great! Surprises are fun.
DeleteI wouldn't mind a getaway to someplace warm.
ReplyDeleteSomeplace warm sounds great. Lately, I've been thinking a trip to Hawaii might be fun.
DeleteA nice dinner out since I usually do the cooking.
ReplyDeleteI hope you get your dinner out! I usually do the cooking, and it's such a treat to have a nice dinner when I don't have to do the dishes after. :)
DeleteMy ideal Valentine gift would be time away with my husband. jmcgaugh (at) semo (dot) edu
ReplyDeleteThat sounds lovely. Hope your wish comes true.
DeleteWe don't really celebrate Valentine's Day, but I do appreciate getting the candy on sale the day after.
ReplyDelete:) Good point! I think the candy hearts are adorable. I love to browse them at the shop, even if we don't usually buy one.
DeleteA nice supply of coffee is what I would like...if not that, then tickets to Ireland....I don't really celebrate Valentine's day
ReplyDeleteI would like a weekend getaway to Somewhere WARM.
ReplyDeleteA 2-week romantic trip to Italy!!! Yep, that would do it!!!
ReplyDeleteA homemade dinner and the new episode of The Walking Dead!!
ReplyDeleteI think mine would be spending the day with my son and maybe an Amazon gift card for more books
ReplyDeleteI would love anything sweet and thoughtful. My husband is not the most romantic man, but he can surprise me. :) Flowers would be great.
ReplyDeleteJust someone to give me chocolates and I would be happy - don't have even greetings from family 😒
ReplyDeleteSpending some romantic alone time with my husband, cuddling on the sofa.
ReplyDeleteI would love to get to have a date with my husband. We haven't had one in more than 10 years or so. *sigh*
ReplyDeleteHe forgot Valentine's Day this year. When he realized what he'd done, this man baked me sugar-free apple and cherry turnovers. Isn't that wonderful??? They were delicious!! I was amazed. Before my health failed, he couldn't cook a frozen burrito! :)
