Release Day! Passionate Promises: Nine Stories to Stir Your Passion

I'm so excited about the release of Passionate Promises, a collection of nine historical romance novellas by bestselling authors, and all for $0.99!

I was honored to be asked to contribute a story along the with the likes of such talented historical romance authors as Ella Quinn, Collette Cameron, Bronwen Evans, Victoria Vane, Barbara Monajem, Michelle McLean, and Violetta Rand.

My novella, Never Tempt a Rogue, finds Felicity Beckett, a young woman who's been bruised by love and become the chaperone for her cousin, squaring off with Alexander Evering, Viscount Lindsay, the man she must keep her cousin away from at a country house party.

Of course, it doesn't help that Lord Lindsay is distractingly attractive. This is Felicity's first impression of the scoundrel.

As you might imagine, their first meeting at the house party doesn't go so well. Here's a little snippet:

“What’s your name?” He knew enough of decorum to realize their whole encounter was inappropriate, but he was damn well going to know her name. She was the first indication that coming to his aunt’s house party might have been a good decision.
“My name is irrelevant, my lord.”
“I’m very sorry to hear that. Your parents were cruel to name you such a thing. A lady like you deserves a much prettier name.” He couldn’t resist teasing her. Later he’d be a gentleman, perhaps even apologize for his behavior, but now, when this woman stood looking at him as if she’d like his head on a spike, he could only think of ways to make her eyes to flare again.
“My name,” she bit out, her straight white teeth clenched in a grimace, “is Felicity Beckett.”
Laughter rumbled up his chest. “Felicity?” He looked at her lovely flushed face and roared with mirth. He hadn’t laughed in six months, and it felt freeing and glorious. “You do know what that word means, don’t you?”
She scowled. “I assure you I am very happy when men like you don’t provoke me.”

Valentine's Blog Hop! Spend a Week with Your Favorite Heroes

Thank you for stopping by to learn more about my hero from One Tempting Proposal, Sebastian, Duke of Wrexford!

I am giving away TWO signed paperback copies of One Tempting Proposal. To be entered into a random drawing, all you have to do is LEAVE A COMMENT! Tell me what your ideal Valentine's Day gift would be.

I'll draw the winners on February 14th and post them here and on my Facebook page.

What is your strength?

As a mathematician, I used to think logic was one of my strengths. Yet since encountering Lady Katherine Adderly at the first ball of the season, my thinking has been anything but logical. The woman is quite a...distraction.

What is your weakness?

I've been told that I can be too single-minded, and have a tendency to hold a grudge. However, since agreeing to Kat's scheme to convince our families that we're engaged, I'm finding tenacity a very useful trait.

What would you like to get on Valentine's Day?

I crave a private moment with Lady Katherine (Kat), when we aren't pretending to conduct a courtship for the benefit of others.

What would be your perfect date?

A dark, clear night in London and a visit to the Royal Observatory in Greenwich to observe the stars. Beyond our loyalty to our siblings, Kat and I have a fondness for stargazing in common.

What are you giving the heroine for Valentine's Day?

Kat adores plants and flowers. It would be quite a coup to gift her with a unique specimen, something she couldn't find in England. Some tropical orchid, perhaps.

Be sure to visit the other authors on the Valentine's Day blog hop to meet more yummy heroes and have a chance to win additional giveaways!
